Affiliated Foods Midwest operates its own Reclamation Center in Norfolk, Nebraska. Once a month, outdated and unsaleable products can be returned for 50% of average retail credit. Accumulated items are to be properly prepared in a readily available banana box and returned to the warehouse for processing and automatic credit. It’s a easy method and saves labor dollar-and-time, for more productive tasks. Be sure to put a note on each box with store number! Stores receive an accurate, easy-to-read computer report detailing all items sent to the Reclamation Center. The Center also prepares a credit memo for each store, while at the same time, the suppliers are billed for the product.
Merchandise damaged at time of delivery must be noted on the delivery ticket. Stores have the option of returning damaged cases and receiving full credit. (Affiliated drivers can give partial credit for damaged cases). Damaged products in each case must be listed for proper credit as per agreement with Affiliated Foods driver. The same applies to perishables, with damaged or unsaleable products noted on tickets.
